[...] Aside from “Thin Blue Flame,” which I’ve loved from the first time I heard it, I think that “Lillian Egypt” is my favorite song on the album. I never would have imagined a love song cast into a silent film would be so much fun: He made her the star of the silent movies / But all she did was mouth the words / all she did was mouth the words, “Oh no!” / And he cast me as the villain as the sheriff’s worst enemy. The keyboard solo ranks up there with the intro to “Baba O’Reilly” in terms of awesome. I’ve got my fingers crossed on this one getting played Wednesday. I suspect that it will be one of those songs that’s as fun to witness and sing along to live as “Snow Is Gone” is. [...]

[...] Because it’s been awhile since I spammed you with Frames-related media–and I’m supposed to be asleep right now anyway–take a look at this video of Josh Ritter and the Frames playing “Come and Find Me” as an encore at the concert I attended in October. Yes, some of those flashes of light are mine. [...]

[...] Back when I wrote my concert review, I mentioned how into things Glen Hansard gets when he’s playing. Just came across a link to this video from the Montreal show that well demonstrates what I mean. As a bonus, you get to hear Rob sing. [...]

I wish you'd been there, too. When you run into him there, you should be sure to mention that you're the one who sent the shirt to that girl in Cleveland ;)

Dude, who cares about exams when there are Frames concerts?! Have you heard "Leave" yet? Or "Too Many Sad Words Make A Sad, Sad Song"? Because you're in for a lovely, lovely evening.

Awesome. Wish I'd been there. Will have to keep my eyes open for Glen next time I'm in Wagamama's.

And I've booked our tickets to see the Frames. Exams? What exams?

I demand a full report on the show, I hope you know.

Also, over the past couple of days, I have downloaded more bootleg gigs than you can shake a stick at. I think I shall have to burn some CDs and send them over to you guys.

I've actually heard a few live recordings now with a story more or less along the lines of what he told us. Actually, he uses almost the same wording in the Chicago show, but I prefer the bit about your best friend telling you you're a psycho instead of "sorry, dude, you're a sucker".

Ritter was good; I really, really, really wish I had a copy of "Thin Blue Flame" from the show because it was just incredible.

There are so many bits I could pick on here: The HJS new intro and Wake Up being the big ones.

And God Bless Mr. Ritter. Love him to pieces.
