Project 22 – 7 – 11 December 2007

I can feel my photographic inspiration seeping even further away now that it’s dark before 5 p.m. This pretty much means that it’s impossible to take outdoor photos because I’m at work during the daylight. Not that there would be great pictures anyway with all the gray.

Threadless!

On Friday, I was excited to get home and find that my Threadless order had made it in. Unfortunately, this close-up does not do the I <3 Color t-shirt justice. Stephanie and I both wore ours today and the shirt looks fantastic, but pretty much only if you’re at enough of a distance for the dots not to overwhelm your perception. Oh yes, and it took our research group two hours of sitting in a room with us both for them to realize that we were wearing the same shirt.

Lazy Saturday

On Saturday, I stayed in bed late and read a bit more of my current book. ‘Twas a wonderful way to start the day.

Gnomicons Upgrade

I spent almost all of Sunday coding like mad to get the newest version of Gnomicons up. The upshot is that the site got a much-needed cleaning (inside and out), but the downside is that I robbed myself of a weekend after finishing my finals up.

Gray Day

Yesterday was what I would consider a gray day in pretty much every respect. It was certainly that case weatherwise, but it was also not an inspiring day at the office. I spent most of it checking the clock to see when I could leave.

Sewing Time

I lost one of the buttons off my favorite coat yesterday on my way to the bus, so this evening I had to dig out my sewing supplies so that I could sew an extra button on in place of the lost one. I think I sewed it rather too tightly to the coat, but that’s probably better than the alternative.

  1. What’s wrong with night photos? You can do some cool stuff with contrast, or in a much less arty sense, take pictures of cool things like lit-up areas of campus/streets, or the stars, or stuff.

  2. The problem is that I don’t have the equipment to do night shots justice. I pretty much need a proper tripod to have a hope of getting any good low light shots.

  3. I finished it last night, actually. I enjoyed it enough that I’ll keep an eye out for the next one. Hopefully the library will have it at some point. In the meantime, I picked up one of his other books to accompany me over break, though, now that I think about it, this may have been unnecessary since I’m planning on trying to re-read my Rocky Ridge series and swipe my sister’s copy of the Dark Materials trilogy. Then again, I will be in a car for a very long time…

  4. Awww, you got the Baby Batman shirt. I wanted one, but they no longer have one in the size I like. Curses.
