Hiding Fates

LOCATION: Amsterdam, Holland
SUBJECT: This is the bookcase that hid the doorway leading to the Secret Annex. Anne Frank described entering the Secret Annex as pulling the bookcase aside, taking a small step, and then you were inside. That "small step" is somewhere around 15 inches (37 cm) high. Just stepping into this room gave me goosebumps all over. Visiting the Secret Annex was like having a hole blown through your heart.
